What is share of voice on Reddit?
Share of voice is your part of the conversation. Take every Reddit post that mentions you or your competitors over a period, and count how many are about you. If your market's brands are named in 400 posts and 100 of them name you, your share of voice is 25%.
It matters on Reddit more than on most platforms. People ask Reddit which tool to pick before they buy, and they read the answers when they search Google. AI assistants read those threads too. A brand that is rarely named there is a brand buyers rarely hear about.
How the tool measures it
Enter your website and up to three competitor websites.
- One search per brand. The tool takes the name in each domain (notion.com becomes "notion") and reads its 100 most recent Reddit posts. If people call a product something else, type that name next to its website: the tool searches the name instead.
- A common period. A busy brand reaches 100 posts in a few days, a quiet one covers years. To compare them fairly, the tool keeps only the period every brand is fully covered: it starts at the most recent of the oldest posts among the brands that reached 100. If no brand reaches 100, it counts every post found. The result shows the exact dates of the period.
- A count. Each brand's posts inside that period. No estimate and no projection.
- The share. Each brand's count, divided by the total for all the brands you entered.
How to read the result
Share of voice is the headline. Compare it with your market share or your ambitions. A leader with 15% of the conversation has a visibility problem. A small brand with 30% is punching above its weight.
Top subreddits show where each brand gets discussed. The bigger the dot, the more posts.
Discussed with your competitors, not with you lists subreddits where your competitors come up and you never do. These communities already talk about your category. They are the first places to join the conversation.
Top posts shows, for each brand, the posts with the most upvotes and comments. Open them to read what people actually say.
Share of voice or brand mentions?
These two measures answer different questions.
- Brand mentions tell you how often you are named. Useful alone, but a count means little without a comparison.
- Share of voice tells you how that count compares with your competitors. It is the measure that shows whether you are gaining or losing ground.

What this tool does not check
- Comments. Reddit search only covers posts. A brand named in a comment under someone else's post is not counted, so the numbers undercount brands that people mostly recommend in replies.
- Names that are also common words. The tool counts every post the search returns. A brand called "notion" or "linear" also matches posts that use the word in its usual sense, so its count is too high. Compare those brands with care.
- Other names for the same product. The tool searches one name per brand. Nicknames and abbreviations people also use are not counted.
- Private and quarantined subreddits, which Reddit search does not return.
Downloading the results
Download card saves the comparison as a PNG image, sized for LinkedIn and X. Download CSV exports every post found for each brand, with its subreddit, title, link, upvotes, comments and date, plus the brand's share of voice. Open it in Google Sheets or Excel to sort and filter.
From a snapshot to a live feed
This tool gives you a picture of one moment. The threads that change your share of voice are the new ones, where someone asks for a recommendation and the answers are still being written. Brand monitoring on Reddit watches your brand and your competitors continuously, scores each post for relevance, and alerts you while those threads are still fresh enough to join.
