The basics

Wait, what is parasite SEO?

Parasite SEO means putting your content on a site Google already trusts, so it borrows that site's authority instead of waiting years for your own domain to earn it. On Reddit it takes its simplest form: find a thread that already ranks for your keyword, and add the answer the thread is missing.

Why parasite SEO?

Real-time posts fade. Google posts keep working

A Reddit thread that ranks on Google gets seen by thousands of people every month. Your comment on that thread is free, permanent visibility.

💸

You're paying for traffic that's already free

Reddit threads rank for "best CRM for startups" and similar queries you're bidding on. One helpful comment on a ranking post can drive more traffic than a month of ads.

📅

One comment, months of results

Real-time posts get engagement for a day. A comment on a Google-ranking thread gets seen for months or even years, and the same threads feed ChatGPT and Perplexity answers. It's the highest ROI activity you're not doing.

🔎

Google searchers are ready to buy

Someone searching "best tool for X" on Google is further down the funnel than a casual Reddit scroller. Your comment reaches them at the exact moment they're comparing options.

How it works

We find the threads that Google ranks

Every week, we scan Google for Reddit posts ranking for your keywords.

01

We crawl Google for your keywords

Every Monday, we search Google for your target keywords and identify which Reddit threads appear on the first page. These are the posts getting organic traffic right now.

02

You see traffic estimates and relevance

Each opportunity shows the Google ranking position, estimated monthly search volume, and an AI relevance score. So you know exactly which posts are worth your time.

03

Comment and collect traffic for months

Write a helpful comment on the ranking post. As long as the thread stays on Google, your answer keeps getting seen by new searchers every day.

In more detail

Is parasite SEO black hat?

Where it crosses the line

Google has a name for the bad version: site reputation abuse. It's what happens when a trusted domain rents its pages out to unrelated content, the coupon and casino sections that appeared on local newspaper sites. Google started penalising it in 2024 and has kept going since.

What gets punished there is publishing content the host's audience never wanted, at scale, purely to farm the domain's authority. Reddit has its own version: fake threads stuffed with keywords, accounts that exist only to drop links. Moderators remove most of it, and Reddit's engagement weighting buries what survives.

Why the Reddit version is the honest one

The play that works on Reddit can't really be spam by construction: you answer a question in a thread where people are actively asking it. If the answer is useless it gets downvoted, and downvoted comments don't rank. The quality check is built into the platform.

What you're borrowing is the distribution, not the credibility. Reddit's domain authority sits above 90, and the content deal Google signed in 2024 put Reddit threads on page one for most product queries. Comments inside those threads can rank on their own, and the same threads feed ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews.

So the parasite part is the authority. The answer still has to earn its place, which is the part RedShip can't do for you and doesn't pretend to.

The manual version, step by step: how to rank on Google with Reddit and why Reddit ranks in the first place.

Testimonials

Loved by founders and marketers

RedShip is one of those rare products that feels instantly useful from day one. It turns Reddit from a noisy time-sink into a laser-focused acquisition channel. The setup is fast, the UI is clean, and the AI relevance scoring makes it obvious where to jump in. I recommend it without hesitation to anyone who wants to take Reddit marketing seriously in 2026.

A big thank you to Axel for Redship! It's hard to stay consistent on Reddit. I tried to be active on it several times, but I always gave up. I thought maybe it wasn't my platform to get used to. And now I'm actively using only Redship. It's a very useful service. If you're also having trouble getting used to and being consistent on Reddit, I highly recommend it.

Same day, you get the click.

The person asking is already shopping. They get a real answer, and so does everyone who lands on the thread after them.

Weeks later, you get the traffic.

Reddit outranks most vendor pages. The thread starts pulling in people who had never heard of you.

Months later, you become the answer.

Assistants lean on those threads when someone asks what to buy. The recommendation comes out of their mouth instead of yours.

Our philosophy

We automate the search,
not your voice.

A machine is good at reading thousands of threads. It is terrible at sounding like someone worth replying to.

Worth a reply

What are you all using for a 40 person team?

The digging, we take off your hands.

Reading thousands of threads and judging which ones deserve an answer is machine work. It is done before you ever open the app.

Yu/youposts it, in your words

The reply, always yours.

Redditors spot a bot instantly. The comment that actually wins someone over is the one only you could have written, so we never send it for you.

Do not automate the replies either. Reddit hunts bots, shadow-removing their comments and banning accounts overnight. You would never even know it happened.
